2018 A Year of Gratitude

2018 – A Year of Gratitude
LINK served 1781 families (9000+ individuals) during our Thanksgiving and Christmas programs
“Two kinds of gratitude: The sudden kind we feel for what we take; the larger kind we feel for what we give.” ― Edwin Arlington Robinson

LINK would like to thank everyone who helped create a successful 2018. As the year draws to a close, we reflect on how we were able to assist those in our community. None of this would be possible without the hundreds of volunteers who gave so freely of themselves over and over again!  We were able to serve 1781 families with our Holiday programs and 2000+ children were able to receive 4 toys each! Each family received food for their family and $47,680 in grocery gift cards were distributed.

We were able to assist more families with Financial Assistance due to being the recipient of a grant from United Way in Loudoun County. More than 65 families received financial assistance of $18,455 for rent or utilities in both counties.

We were able to serve 1300+ families with our Mobile Food Pantry each month. The Capital Area Food Bank donated more than 66,000 pounds of vegetables, fruit and canned goods which LINK volunteers distributed.

Our regular home deliveries each week (Tuesday – Saturday) served more than 850 families. Volunteers packed the food each night and 2+ volunteers drove the food to the recipient’s homes, along with a grocery gift card.

Thank you for your help in making this a very successful 2018! We could use your help in 2019 too!

Volunteers are the DifferenceIt does take an army of volunteers to make the LINK program a success. We had volunteers of all ages who helped this past year. Businesses, scouting groups, friends, individuals and church groups all came out and helped LINK serve thousands of families this year. Send an email to us if you would like more information on how you can help in 2019.
