Holy Spirit Mass commemorates the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation and the progress that Roman Catholics and Lutherans have made in overcoming the obstacles that once divided them.

It is a privilege for the Lutheran presenting partners in this venture to share Holy Spirit Mass with our friends of all faiths – and no faith at all. We thank the Catholic community at the National Shrine for welcoming us, and we welcome all to an evening of music that celebrates our shared joy in faith.” ~ Bishop Graham

In addition to the ELCA Metro D.C. Synod, partners with NLC in this ecumenical endeavor include Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Southeastern District; Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSS/NCA) in special recognition of LSS/NCA’s 100th year celebration of service, and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

A free will offering will benefit: the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, the Lutheran Volunteer Corps, and the Lutheran Young Adult Corps.
