500th Celebration of the Reformation at the National Cathedral in Washington DC

A group from CLC enjoyed a wonderful evening at the National Cathedral on Sunday October 30th joining thousands of others in a standing room only crowd for the Commemoration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.

The sermon was delivered by The Rev. Elizabeth Eaton, Presiding Bishop, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  Beautiful music from The Ambassadors of Praise, Afro Blue & Philly All-Stars and the Roanoke College Choir.

It was a joy to hear all those Lutherans singing A Mighty Fortress is Our God and The Church’s One Foundation.

Pastor Joe, Pastor Annabelle, Jenny Tutwiler and Sherry Fitzsimmons were honored to be asked to be Communion Assistants.  They received instructions on where to stand and what to do before the service.

All the beautiful pictures from inside the Cathedral.
