On Saturday evening, March 2, I had the honor of hosting a major concert for Focus (focusmusic.org) on the Fellowship Hall stage. An overflow audience and 18 performers came together in a benefit concert for local songwriting legend Tom Prasada-Rao, who is battling cancer and unable to work for some time. CLC welcomed over 200 people who filled the hall to overflowing, using every chair in the church with only standing room left over. Many of the musicians were touring artists who have been regular Focus performers over the year, augmented by the cream of local talent, performing separately and together in impromptu ensembles and 18-voice choirs. Community Lutheran Church truly lived up to our name and mission statement on this love-filled evening.
