“Welcoming others, growing in grace, sharing Christ’s love.”
A church embedded in the community that impacts people’s lives for the sake of the Gospel
Welcome; Community; Christian Formation; Outreach
My first visit to Community Lutheran was in 2001. I was immediately moved by the openness and friendliness of the people, by a provocative and thoughtful sermon, by wonderful music, and finally by the closing hymn of “Blest Be the Tie That Binds.” That tie has bound me to the people and the mission of Community Lutheran for the past 17 years.
Community Lutheran is a congregation of faithful believers. Dedicated people 45 years ago had the vision to begin building a congregation in the midst of a dynamic and growing community. Our beautiful worship edifice was completed in 1992. Indeed the church, which began as a labor of love, determination, and, in many cases, sacrifice, is now a welcoming place for those seeking a connection with a faith community.
The very real beauty of Community Lutheran, of course, is rooted in Community Lutheran’s vision and mission. The vision of the church is in its name—“Community.” We believe that we have a role to play in the life of our community and in the world in which we live. We hope not only personally to grow in grace, but we want to share our faith and welcome others. We especially seek to live out our faith by reaching out to those in our community who most need our care and assistance.
We enthusiastically welcome all who come to Community Lutheran. We invite you to walk through our doors and make Community Lutheran your home. In so doing, you too can share in our vision of a better community and a better world. Strengthened by our Christian faith and a belief in God’s grace, we are confident that we can make a difference.
